Motorcycle intercoms

Motorcyclists love independent arrival of the bike and ride into the sunset. In some cases, however, the driver, a passenger, and it is also quite common for motorcyclists to ride a couple or in groups. In these cases it is often necessary to riders with a passenger or another driver. Screaming over the sound of engines and the wind is not very practical or sign language to help communicate so that motorcyclists are among motorcycle communicators and intercoms.

These can be divided into three main categories:

• basic acoustic communicators
• wired communicators
• Wireless systems.

The acoustic communication system is only earpiece and a mouthpiece, as one speaker says something, what we go through a hollow tube to the listener on a journey. This method has no gain and it is therefore of limited use in high speed. Of course it works only between a driver and a passenger.

The second type is a wire intercom intercom using a motorcycle, make the driver of the passenger. Everyone is in a socket on the motorcycle and communication between them can be quite fluid. Again, this only works if two people are communicating on the same motorcycle. Remember that everything that happens within their helmets.

For communications between motorcycles, fast wireless phones work very well.

There are four different technologies used for wireless intercom:

• FM
• FRS
• GMRS
• Bluetooth.

FM uses a limited, narrow range of frequency modulation in FM radio is used, and it works best when there are no hills or buildings. For a 2 mile radius works Family Radio Service or FRS, options are good, but for longer distances, the public mobile radio service, preferably with walkie-talkies.

Note that FRS and GMRS frequencies are public, so anyone else on the same frequency can hear the call.

The most advanced motorcycle intercom method is to use a helmet with Bluetooth technology and hands-free technology for many phones. Although Bluetooth intercom only work over hundreds of meters, this is a private and very clear moderator of the discussion between two drivers, they're the same bike, horse or close to each other. When the two helmets coordinates the development of Bluetooth, no one can capture the communication between them.

Think carefully before deciding which motorcycle intercom systems to install in your helmet. Your choices include one or two earpieces, a watertight system for rainy riding, Voice Activation, noise, music and many other features.
